Fumihiko Imashimizu
Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. As a landscaper in Japan for 10 years, he set his path to create gardens abroad and decided to move to Vancouver in 2009 and successfully established “Imashi Garden Inc.” in 2014.
The stunning nature of British Columbia accompanied by the diverse contrasts that alter with that of the four seasons, perspectives towards nature’s inherent beauty never rests. These are the major influences towards each landscape created in a Imashi Garden design. Following the inspiration that nature can teach us, Imashi Garden Inc. follows a concept of, “highlighting the inherent potential to natural materials.”.
In particular, the use of crafting natural rocks and boulders upon creating gardens. The blend of both the technical skills used in traditional Japanese gardens combined with the use of local materials and notes of British Columbia’s renowned natural elements.
With acquired experience from both countries, Imashi Garden Inc. is dedicated to providing a garden experience that can fulfill the appreciation towards nature and setting the stage to witness the shifts over the course of the seasons.
